Salt

Salt is a mineral that’s made up of sodium chloride. It’s used as a seasoning and preservative in food, and in many industrial processes.

Types of salt:
  • Table: The most common one used in kitchens, especially in granulated form
  • Rock: A natural crystalline mineral form
  • Sea: Unrefined, that comes from the sea
  • Kosher: Coarse-grained that’s made from sodium chloride and is often used in Jewish cooking.
