Description
You can brew authentic south indian filter coffee at home with the Iyka Indian Brass Coffee Filter, made with high quality brass. It enhances the traditional coffee experience.
The Indian filter for coffee percolation is a traditional metal filter, typically made of brass, used to brew a strong, robust coffee known as “filter coffee” or “kaapi”.
It’s a slow percolation method where hot water is poured over finely ground coffee in the upper chamber, and the resulting brew drips into the lower chamber.
Iyka Indian Brass Coffee Filter consists of two cylindrical metal compartments, one nesting inside the other. The top compartment has small holes in its base, acting as the filter.
How To Use:
- Finely ground coffee is placed in the upper chamber and compressed with a pressing disc.
- Hot water is then poured over the disc and filter.
- The brewed coffee, known as decoction, drips down into the lower chamber.
This method produces a rich, full-bodied coffee with a more robust flavor compared to Western drip coffee.
South Indian filter coffee is a popular beverage, often enjoyed with hot milk and sugar, and is a staple at many South Indian breakfast tables.
Iyka began as a small collection of beautifully handcrafted products. With each piece, we sought to create something that would elevate everyday moments into cherished experiences.
